Gettin off my ass a bit & draggin the gear out to gigs. I'm gonna do it continuously til we get used to bein recorded.

Still have this damn popping on the right channel of a linked pair of Audix mics. It doesn't matter on which ch's I put the mics, and it only happens on the that pair's right. I have the guitar stereo/linked & no poppin, so I suspect its the linking THOSE MICS thats doin it. Very annoying.

Anyway, 2 O/H and a kick, NT2 on the sax, Bass & Guit direct. -3 Neve Preamp models on sax & Drum O/H, Red Preamp model on the kick and guitar. Sax & bass also thru an inexpensive 2 ch M-Audio pre that I like.

Gettin more familiar w/this beast. I, of course, HATE the imperfections, but I'll just grit my teeth & post

Nice, Ben.

Need more sax around here. I have most of my efforts into the Hammond this year and forgot what a sax sounded like. \:\)

Love those Jimmy smith & Stanley Turrentine records so much I want to play it all. \:\)

Good playing by everyone in the band.

Don't take this as a negative remark, but this music just crys for an upright bass.

Thx Marty & VG.
Our bass player is actually a guitar player...for that matter a better one than...well, I guess I shouldn't go there  So his interest in moving to upright is nonexistent. But I have to agree...

The good thing about gritting teeth & posting is it re-doubles my desire to shed. \:D

I burned 11 cuts for the boyz to hopefully get their attention onto the tasks (for themselves) I see the need for in my performance.

Ben, I'm happy to see a jazz band getting so much work.
That in itself is something to be way proud of.

Yah, we're pretty blessed in that regard. We have a weekly gig (for now) and 2 or 3 a month besides; not bad for a city of 1/2 a mil or so.

BTW, I'm Bob. Ben is the guitar player/leader. Its his project, my gear, and I get to play melodies "out front" (and wash bottles ;\) )

Nice work! Is it me or is the level kind of low? I'm listening through computer speakers so I can't tell if it's on my side or not.

The levels are prolly low...I didn't spend any time on that aspect; just thru some 'verb on the sax, mixed the levels and ran.

Owning gear sertainly has its perks. \:D

Well I gotta say....... I'm listenin' w/ my "nice" headphones....nice balance, levels ain't bad and the talent is obvious.

I love lotsa' jazz styles though I can't really play them ....and yes I know in my heart there is a great audience for it in the right clubs. Timeless music like Blues.

My friend Beth just got back from doing some clubs in Harlem and she said it was mostly that...and as great and hoppin' as ever.
