Just make one reply to this post, and be counted. The total number of replies = the total number of 2480 users. Don't post more than once!

This will give us a ratio of total users:users with problems, and give us a better understanding of this board.

I'm still hangin' in here. My 2480 crashed during a session. Really set me back. I sent the hd in for recovery and then reformatted the hd after it came back. Just downloaded 2.008 tonight..we'll see. I love the interface and the sound of the 2480 but am hoping it's more dependable with the new software.

I've had mine for around 2 1/2 months. Completely
trouble free, but I am meticulous about saving,
undoing, optimizing, backing up, reformatting, etc. It's in use around 6-10 hours a day and it's a trooper.
I am delighted with this machine!

I hesitate to reply because this site seems to have turned into just a place to BASH Roland. I have a 2480 which I purchased about a month after it came out. On which I have done one self produced album and lots of demo stuff. I was originally excited about this website, thinking it would be a great place to learn and it has, but as of late it hasn't been that exciting to come here and read all the negativity. I am sorry those of you who have had problems are so frustrated and realize that this is one of the only forums that you can share them (I too have had some problems). It does however get very old. I can't wait 'til we get back to the excitment of recording!

I use. And I am about to buy my 2nd. Keep in mind, the day I got mine, I tore it completely apart and re-assembled it before I even turned it on for the first time. No problems at all. \:D

2480 with one minor problem. If I use the job wheel while playing back in the mastering room, machine says "please wait" indefinitely. requires cold restart. only problem I've seen so far and I can live with it.

I'm in for about 6 months now. i do my own stuff and mix semi-pro for local bands in japan. after i sent my first mix on the 2480 to a client, he called me 3 times in 2 hours too excited to talk, and eventually said "I had no idea my band was that good". a machine that sounds good enough to make somebody THAT happy is a good call!

i've had no problems and i keep copies of everything in pro tools via manual MTC synced "re-record" transfers

Purchased my 2480 HD used on e-Bay in early March 2002. Haven't really "pushed on the throttle" yet.

Spent the past weekend upgrading from 1.110 to 2.004.

I hope someday to be a "power user" and help other new users the way many of ya'all have helped me.

Purchased my VS-2480HD at end of June 2002. The first unit was a 2480CD and the CD-ROM didn't work. Replace it with a 2480HD which is working fine. Only other problem early on was the unit hung on powerup loading the demo project.
