When starting a new song project I'm just wondering how folks set their VS2480 up for tracking a session?
I'm (tentatively!) working on my first song using my newly acquired VS2480 and it's a bit different to my last machine. My old recorder was sort of marketed for recording WITH effects printed (there were lots of presets for this purpose).
With the VS2480 I find I'm recording completely 'dry' with no processing and ... it's different. If this is my way forward it will take a bit of getting used to no doubt. (I only have the one factory-installed FX card which I guess is best saving for adding effects post-recording, right?)
Am I right in my thinking here that, with a unit like this, it's best practice to record 'flat' as it were then add in/on any Comp/EQ/FX/etc at the mixing stage?
