I dropped in earlier today, and never left, I'm having a blast reading posts, thought I'd strike up a conversation with whoever was around …..
I'm thrilled to see so many people still using these machines.... It's amazing how well these VS2480's held up! I still have, and use my old experimental (modified) machine.... works great, and sounds as good as anything else out there today.....

I've had better years... health issues. I moved to FL about six years ago. I was living in MD when we did a deal on the MB-24.... way back in 10-5-2009. You took it to meet my stepson James at a truck stop, who brought it home via 18-wheeler. Still have it, works great.

Sorry to hear about the health issues.... Yep, I remember the deal with the MB24, met your (cousin?)…. very nice guy! I thought you were in Pennsylvania..... the whole aerospace thing (but I could be mistaken)….
I'd love to be in Florida right now.... it's cold here.... I hate the cold! Ha ha!

I was doing the aerospace / unmanned stuff in MD (for L-3 Communications) back then. My stepson still runs long-haul... on his way back from Idaho now and coming down here for a visit in a few days with other family members.
I ended up with two complete 2480 systems and all the accessories. Still didn't do the mods... just lazy. I did have a question about that, but I'd have to look it up to remember it right now... LOL!
Sorry but you can have the northern cold... I'll keep the heat, hurricanes, and gators (but I'm happy to share!)

The wife and I are seriously thinking about relocating to Tennessee…. I like the Midwest....
As for the 2480, I'm down to just one system now... upgraded pres, 120gig ssd, meter bridge, monitor, adat card to transfer, that's about it now.... I still love the freedom to record anywhere without thinking about technology

That's cool. TN is a pretty place. Got broke down one time driving through Nashville in the winter, but had tools and got back on the road an hour later.
Sometimes simpler IS better.
