Hi Y'all,
A friend of mine has a Tascam 2488 II and we want to do a project together. Is there any way for his machine to import backup files (CD) made on the Roland VS2480? And if not is there a method you know of to transfer my files to his machine?
Thanks
Mick

From the Mark II Tascam 2488 review:
"The last change worth noting is that the already comprehensive file exchange and backup options of the original 2488 have been bolstered by support for stereo WAV-file import via USB or CD."

He can't import backup files from the Roland, but you can burn wav files to a CD by the "track export" function. Theoretically, the Tascam could import those. (I have done this many times into Studio One DAW - but I have no experience with the Tascam machine.)

If you donīt NEED / MUST have the files / tracks digitally transferred, you can use
the "Direct Out" option and transfer 8 analog tracks at once via TS cables from
Master out L + R, AUX out A & B and Monitor L + R ( Analog Multi Output ) to
Tascam inputs.
Fast and easy \:\)

Cheers !

I tried the track export thing and it worked but the disc is finalized after just one song (2tracks). Is there a way to not finalize the disc so I can get more data on it?
