Here is a song that I tracked 2 years ago, when I had the VS for a year. I had only been doing multitrack recording of church services for 18 months, and this was my first recording linking 2 2480's for 32 tracks. This song has 29 tracks since there was only one soloist and had 4 tracks assigned to solos. This is one that I also want to remix, just to see how much better I can do now. Even though it is 29 tracks, the original mix was done on one VS2480 with 2 effects cards. I submixed the choir down to a stereo pair, and the same for woodwinds and brass. Moved Virtual tracks around and mixed it all together.
VS Planet Name:AgapeBurt VS Planet Member Number:9401 VS series model:2480 X 2 Location: Griffin, Georgia Name of Project/Song :Rejoice Artist - Performer:First Assembly Choir, Robert Solomon Written by: Produced by: Recorded by:Burt Crapo Original Mix by:Burt Crapo Mastered by:Not Published by:Not Available Format: 24 bit wav exported from VS Will be available for download or can order 2 CD's with wavs on them. Each wav a seperate download to make it easier No. of tracks:29 Style of music: Christmas Gospel Choir Date of recording:Dec 2003 Level of Audio Engineering experience:pick a number between 2 and 25

An original song recorded live on budget mics. D112 on kick. ? on snare. Avelex on OH's Kel HM-1 on harp & guitar. Beyer op69 on vox. Direct out on upright. Lots of bleedover & noise. This is more about feel than fidelity. Have fun!

I think that is a fair suggestion. Normally that should be included by default with the track notes (if supplied).

Point taken PA. Did you get involved at all in any of the remixes? The whole point of this was to allow people to use the 2480 (or as it turned out - whatever platform one uses)to its best advantage - newcomers especially. A lot of the threads here in this site are not even 2480 related. If enough people want this thread removed, then I am sure the webmaster will take suitable action - so why not put up a separate post to make your case?
Personally, I have been out on the road for a number of months and have just recently returned. My focus was shifted. i am sure however that a few people have taken this thread and its concept on seriously. Yoda has especially put a lot of work in.
I believe it is a good facility. Let's not nip it in the bud.

PA Please don't take this the wrong way but don't you think a thread like this one is more relevant to the Forum than your dramatic posts counting down to the space shuttle launch on the 4th of July

Connor, Sean, Burt....if this this project is still alive, I apologize, and by all means it should stay stuck.
I'm not trying to be negative, it just looks to me like Yoda has left for good and the project is done.
Sorry if I was incorrect, carry on with your re-mixes.

I am not sure where Ed went, and if this is a dead horse. If I had more time, I would host it and it could live on. I am too busy to even participate now. If Yoda cannot be contacted, then I have no problem with unsticking this thread. I did learn a lot from it.

Quick question !! Does anyone know if the editing features of the 2480 are similar to the vs2000. They dont have a quick start { full }video for the 2000 and i do have a 2480 video. Just curious as to how much is the same !! Thanks Jeff

I am not sure how this all works.I have a question about dithering. If i record at 96 khz and send all these tracks to computer for dithering to 44 khz back to vs for mastering is this the way to do this.

Hi to all VS-Planeteers. I am back after a considerable absence. I am not sure if Yoda is still active on the forums - are you still out there Yoda?
I certainly don't want to annoy people with a thread that doesn't produce any activity, but shortly I will be putting up a couple of songs for remix if anyone is interested.
These are original songs and are truly superb pieces of work. I need to get the artists permission first but once I have clearance I will make the tracks available.
Best regards,
ConnorP
