Guitar instrumental tune

A short little tune using my Washburn parlor guitar after it came back from the repair shop.

Re: Guitar instrumental tune

Thanks, Jamie. Basically testing out the Washburn. I'd never recorded with it before. Not bad sound for a $250 guitar. I used an AT4047 about 10-12 inches from the neck joint except the little solo spots it was about 3 inches away. Also fingers on everything except a pick on those spots. I broke the nail off on my middle finger so it was weird playing with nails and skin. B string pretty light sounding. Open D tuning.

Lovely. Fabulous sound. I saw a little Washburn that sounded fabulous a while back. It was 12 fret and had a slotted headstock.

Re: Guitar instrumental tune

Thanks, all.

Andy, that's exactly what this one is - 12-fret with slotted headstock. I got it on eBay and it was a mess. I took it to my friend (a luthier and a certified Martin repairman) and he despaired on first look. But he said he'd take a closer look later. He called me back and said "doable". Intonation is still a tiny bit iffy in spots, but 2.5 million times more playable now.

Loved it Bruce! There was a bird singing outside of my window and I thought for a second that it was part of the song.

Re: Guitar instrumental tune

Thanks Starliner. Hey Bill, I guess I could have put some birds sound effects in there!

Re: Guitar instrumental tune

oh yea, i dig that...
the opening reminds me of a zep tune,
but the melody takes it to a unique zone.

it's sweet, and bittersweet.

makes me want a parlor.
