Dave_ Dave_ Space Cadet Registered: 09/14/10 Posts: 26 Loc: Maryland DC suburb	Is there a standard setting for the LF and HF Trim on the DS-90A? I've just connected mine up to my 2480 to work on a project and the output is very different from the headphone sound. I tried all the speaker modeling patches and none give me a decent sound. I currently have the modeling off and have both trims flat. I'm getting a very muddy, low-end sound out of the monitors while the headphone mix is nicely balanced. I know that the headphone and monitors will sound different, but I don't think it should be this much so. So my question is, should I adjust the trims until I'm getting something closer to the headphone mix and go from there? Or are my headphones lying to me and I should adjust everything to sound good from the monitors? Thanks Dave

What does a commercial CD sound like played through the DS-90? If that sounds good, chances are you are fooling yourself with the headphone mix - what you hear on the DS-90 will be closer to what a cd will sound like on a home HiFi or car stereo. I used to have a pair - I left the trims flat. In any event you should be listening to your mixes on as many systems as possible... once you get the feel of it you will be able to trust your DS-90s more. Edited by bear (11/12/10 05:21 PM)
