Nothing on the blog for three days???
Slacker. A real man would have built a WiFi transmitter out of sticks and dead squirrels... which is about all he has seen for the last three days

I think it is highway 12 isn't it?
Looks like probably about 150 miles of incredible scenery and NOTHING man made except the highway itself

Thanks for the updates Rolf. I am enjoying your photos and comments immensely. You are an inspiration! Maybe you can find an AT&T Wireless store in Missoula to help with your phone. Very best wishes as you continue your adventure.

Bump to keep this thread from falling off the page.
Why don't we make this a sticky? Look at the number of views, people are definitely interested.

Yeah, very cool Rolf! Hopefully that scorching heat across the middle of the US will pack it in very soon, and give people a much needed break from the insane triple digit heat in the upcoming weeks. Not much you can do when there's a shift in the Earth's climate (hopefully not permanent, but. . . )

same heat happened in 1953 when my family first moved here... it's raining a bit now in western KY.. temps dropping after 105 today... projecting mid to high 80's here for the next couple of weeks.. hope Rolf doesn't have to endure too much summer heat.. but he's a tough guy, gone through a lot... and this is a blip on the sonar// go ROLF

+1 on the sticky!
Who would have thought that id be following a blog from a chap that I've never met and yet still collaborated with musically.
It's a funny virtual world we live in today: Yet I'm there in the US with him!!
does that make sense?
Keep pedalling the trip Rolf!

And btw RGR...the reason folks in Montana seem to drive by you carelessly is because A. We see hundreds of you every summer...and B. Our speed limit is faster than most states....and barely enforced at that. It's a big ass state and we have places to be.
A speeding ticket here on the highway costs $20 cash on the spot. It used to be $5. I don't think any other state still does it this way....legally.
Keep in mind this is the only state in America in which not so long ago we denounced speed limits altogether and every speed limit sign read "Safe and Prudent". The only reason MT gave it up is because the federal government threatened to cut off our highway construction/repair funding.
So IOW...don't be scared.....everyone sees you. Just don't sway across that white line.
If it's between you or a head on collision with a semi....it's going to be you.
Glad you're enjoying my state.
P.S. Also glad you didn't do the Highway 2 journey....that shits just plain fucking dangerous.
