With the Pro tools Massenburg plugin costing nearly $500, how are you guys using (if at all) the VS plugs in your software DAW's? , I have as I'm sure most of you a host of 3rd party VS plugs that souind amazing. Aside from maybe the inability to do real-time tweeks, are there any workarounds out there?

Thanks man!...... I'm not sure how I figured out what to suggest though, considering that I don't own any VS8f3 cards and don't record any VS effects from my VS8f2 cards into my PC daw anymore because I still haven't fixed that "tick" sound I get when using them. But I'm always glad to help whenever I can... \:\)

Anyway, glad you got it figured out.... really.

Hi UTD, You know in the long run I'm realizing it's easier to use either the VS platform or software DAW. Trying to merge the two in a useful workflow has proven (for me) counter productive.

Unfortunately, it seems that is the conclusion most often reached.

It is extremely convenient, still, to have the all-in-one in a highly portable system when circumstances permit.

(Really, though, even a laptop system is pretty darn convenient for me these days).

I was pretty successful getting both Logic and ProTools to sync and lock with the VS2400CD. The key thing was to always give the slave system enough time to synchronise with the master system before doing anything critical - ie. recording. Logic generally needed 5+ seconds of preroll to figure itself out.

I got PT 10 slaved to my two 2k's (seems to be easier to control this way) and yeah, it IS pretty cool. Being able to use the 2k's plugins with Pro tools is awesome not to mention how much $$$ it saves. Thanks headwerkn2 for helping me give it another try \:\)
