Seems to me that Funkybeat used to use it a lot. I tried the trial for a while years ago, but it didn't do what I hoped it would do (me not knowing much about PC's and software at the time).

As you say, it gives you a visual. There's more to it, but I've forgotten everything. Have you read up on their website? Are they still selling it?

Funkybeat is a guy who has use VSPro and is moderator of their user forum (still, I believe), as well as a large presence on the VS Planet forums.

Datasonics is the company that developed VSPro (I believe). They're located here: http://www.datasonics.com.au/

I don't remember what all Logic VS was/is able to do, so I really can't compare the two.

As long as you're happy with what you're using, then that's all that matters. \:\)

I'll go ahead and answer your questions and give a little of my history with the product.

No, I didn't create the VS Pro software, but I did become the most outspoken internet source for it back when I was heavily using it. I created a VS Pro Support forum for the product here:

VS Pro Support Forum

I still have behind-the-scenes access to that forum, however; when I moved away from using the software, I turned the forum over to another member. I haven't used VS Pro since early 2007.

VS Pro is not a cheap version of Logic VS. Quite the contrary. VS Pro is a very powerful computer user interface for the VS line of recorders. I had many people who found Logic VS to be unstable and give them a ton of problems. When I turned them on to VS Pro, they found VS Pro to be far superior over Logic VS. To each his own. YMMV.

I got turned on to VS Pro in 2004 by Byron Santo, here at vsplanet. He doesn't frequent vsplanet anymore and now uses Sonar. After testing it out on my VS-1880, I fell in love with VS Pro's stability and was hooked. Byron suggested that I create a user forum for it since there wasn't one anywhere on the net. So I did. After a few months in existence, Datasonics (the company that created VS Pro) sent me an email and gave me their blessings on the forum. I had a great relationship with them.

I used VS Pro HEAVILY from 2004 - 2007 and became the official internet spokesman for it and was featured on the Datasonics website.

In the spring of 2007, I was introduced to another amazing piece of software called Reaper. It is a multi-track computer DAW. I started testing Reaper at home and was so blown away with the stability of it, plus my very enjoyable user experience with it, that I abandoned using VS recorders and VS Pro altogether for Reaper.

I haven't visited that site in years but I see they still have me on there as their VS Pro spokesman. HA!
