Does your driver support MIDI over RBUS. this latest M-audio driver I installed does not have the MIDI over RBUS.

The only part of the MIDI officially supported in the RPC-1 are the "System Common Messages", the "System Real Time Messages" and the "System Exclusive Messages".
This means all the messages that DONīT contain channel information in the first byte.
Although the R-Bus protocol in theory can support all the MIDI protocol v.1.0, only the system messages were implemented in the RPC-1.
Look that the drivers are completly compatible in the audio side, but the MIDI shows different degrees of compatiblity depending of the computer, the Roland V-Studio or the Roland mixer that you are using.
At the present I only can test it with the VS-2480 and for me the MIDI works well in a 90 %, but I don't use the whole implementation in my daily work.

I finally got an RPC-1. I downloaded and installed the above driver. It seems that it only works if my VS-2400 is set to 44 kHz. The ASIO control panel doesn't allow changing the sampling rate. I wanted to use 96 kHz.
Unfortunately, the latest M-audio Delta driver release has dropped the RPC-1 and Delta R-BUS altogether. Not just MIDI over R-BUS.

Additional questions, (1) next time I want to configure 2 RPC-1 cards on a WinXP system, I looked at the cards and the eproms are labled on both cards: left: RPC-1A02 / right: RPC-1B01. I think Roland wonīt support an eprom update anymore, some suggestions where I could get the latest version ?
(2) The connection should be to a VS2480 and I read about the dip-switches in the manual and Iam bid confused because the descripion for VS2480 and RPC-1 on vs2480net seems different, from which view "up" and "down" ??? (VS2480 clocked by WordClock as Master) Any pictures / schematic views how to set up right ?
Thanks a lot.
EDIT: (3) As I read the R-Bus includes midi signals too, so I do not need a "normal" midi connection for RPC-1/VS2480 anymore ? Or do they disturb each other at the end for the MTC/MMC sync/commands ? Canīt find any infos about...
EDIT2: Question moved to VS2480 area...

I got the RPC-1 to work at 96 khz. But the driver caused power management to fail completely, the machine couldn't resume after sleeping. Since there was no hope for a driver update as M-Audio who provides the driver officially dropped it from the latest release, I resold the RPC-1. Guess I'll have to keep using CDs to transfer stuff from the VS-2400.

RPC-1 win7 64bit driver
http://hotfile.com/dl/127182224/4ffb411/RPC-1_W7_64Bit_.rar.html
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=86K5K5GC
Warning:
The installation of the driver is not automatic, you should do it in the "old" style adding the hardware.
The driver correspond to M-Audio Delta II v5.10.00.5069.
The versions 5.10.00.5074 & 5.10.00.5076 are not tested, but probably they will have in the RPC-1 the same problems that the Delta boards have.
In Pro Tools 9.x, due the limitations of the software, only a single board will be recognized. Avid has not intentions of to modify this limitation for M-Audio products (official information).
Donīt forget that Roland has an alternate version of the Rom (a replacement chip) for the RPC-1 that fix all the noise problems (contact tech support).

You are replying to a post nearly 2 years old... zxc hasn't been around these parts in a long time...
SOME version of the M-AUDIO delta drivers will work with the RPC on 64 bit OS... but I forget the details... I just went through this a while back when I was doing some experimentation... I believe it is one from several versions back
It took me quite a bit of searching around the web to find it.
You do lose MIDI though, it no longer is available
Maybe PM JazzAddict - I am pretty sure he had his RPCs working under 64bit WIN7.. go to the bar and grill and look for a post by him to start a PM

RPC-1_W7_64Bit driver

http://rapidgator.net/file/df20524dce729ddb02bab9352a4e5dcf/RPC-1_W7_64Bit_.rar.html
Remember!!!
This driver was made using M-Audio Delta driver ver.5.10.00.5069
The MIDI is limited due M-Audio has limited certain functions.
A good programmer probably could restore the missing functions.
Under Avid Pro-Tools only ONE board can be used, this "enhacement" was introduced by Avid when they purchased M-Audio.
I have tried to do a new version with ver.6_0_5_Driver 5_10_0_5076, but I found that new limitations have been added by Avid or Windows 7 x64 has some limits that I donīt know how to surpass. Only a single board can be used with this version with any program, so I will wait some time and if thereīs no solution I will post it.

Adenum:
Remember that the M-Audio/RPC-1 driver was originally designed and optimized for to be used under Windows XP, the versions for Windows 7 are basically cosmetic adaptations of a device designed for other OS.
