I don't have much on Tom, he was smart enough to not show his image very often but here he is as a young man in a fictional, Planetary, super group that consisted of Tom,(far left), Max, Smelly and Dan.
RIP Tom
I'll never forget his story about turning to God while on a commercial air flight while tripping on acid.

I am always sorry to see someone pass, but he was not a very nice guy around here, imo. He told several people they were going to hell when they die--imagine that? Big balls, I'll give him that. And I liked his stories about his family.

He was a good guy around here. This back-and-forth squabble amongst Planeteers is very poor form, and has also been going on for over a decade. Planeteers that have disagreed with Tom on political and/or religious matters have thrown so many proverbial stones that it isn't surprising that Tom would say something shocking like that. Badgering people for different beliefs or perhaps for unsophisticated writing style is absolutely uncouth and illmannered and those of you that engage in these things should be utterly ashamed of yourselves. That isn't up for debate. If you do these things, man up and stop. In other words, grow up.

Tom loved a good argument, like lots of folks here. And like lots of folks, he went over the top sometimes. He was human, after all. Doesn't mean he wasn't a nice guy. He's certainly above it all now. I'll miss him.
I remember posting a silly quote from a Monty Python movie, and Tom IM'd me, all angry because he thought I was insulting his mom. We had a good laugh over it.

Poor form and very distasteful IMO. Geo is right. Just stop it! If you can’t say anything nice about the man then just move on and don’t say anything at all.
Personally, I’ve always felt like if Tom and I met in person we’d get along fine. He basically seemed like a good ole boy with somewhat of an Archie Bunker perspective. I liked his music and the fact he seemed to love his family very much, which are two things we had very much in common. For me, love of family and music is much more important than politics or even religion. It’s a much deeper common ground.

I always enjoyed Tom. I've missed him and will continue to.
Now he knows the things he was right about, and the things he got wrong. I'm in no hurry to go, but I do look forward to experiencing our life after life...
Sadly I imagine this is among the first in the gradual attrition from the planet as we all age and pass. The average ages of us leaning longer and longer in the tooth....
