No doubt you meant to link to this (these 2), right? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4...D+card&_sacat=0
Wow - I didn't even notice that you'd asked a question here, until I was just ready to post my reply..... (punctuation to separate sentences is really helpful in this respect..... just sayin').
I have no answer - except the observation that you appear to be correct.

I am weary about buying another scsi2sd since mine stopped working after one backup.
Also I tried it on both units. (I have two vs2480's one is 2.5 and the other 2.505)
However if I make some money in the stock market maybe I will try one more time.

Hi guys.
Does anyone tried the scisi2sd with a vs1680 or it only works with the vs2480?
Sorry, I read that it works with the vs880 so I don't see why it will not work for the Vs1680. I bought a SCSI2D v5.5. We'll see.
Sorry again to bother, I know there is tons of information on this forum, I should have digged longer.

Thanks for all who input into this thread. Just acquired a VS2480 and wooded how I was going to get files out with no available CD drive. The SCSI2SD was purchased and now works well in the SCSI with a 64GB card. Thanks to NibblerNibbles (a fellow Scot) above and also on YouTube plus also Ian Canefire for useful guidance on set up via YouTube video. Cheers guys. (Next is the replacement of the HD with an SSD!!!)

OK...Cool your jets there, Eric.
First of all, every single piece of new technology IS NOT SUPPORTED. PERIOD. END OF STORY.
Have people been knocking themselves out for years attempting to get this tech to work...OF COURSE.
Does it?
Well, when it feels like it. Let's just put it THAT way.
There are NO GUARANTEES an SD Card or an SSD with function properly with the VS-2480 system. OS v2.504, 2.505...is just doesn't matter folks.
You HAVE to be realistic about this.
The SSD's can easily lock up, get corrupted, become unaccessable, puke in five different colors, and loose data like any other data storage device.
So, dont get all googly-eyed about these things...OK?
Many end-users can't even format them in the VS machine, and require an external SCSI device to put them into, and remove the IDE drive on the VS-2480 so it will default to the SCSI upon booting so your can format what it sees on the SCSI bus.
It's a real clusterphuck when you come right down to to low level issues with this SSD pig.
Just wanted to give you some honesty, as opposed to looking at this thru rose-colored glasses. Plus, if the SSD does glitch out on you while in the vs-2480, you're going to need to re-format it via the external SCSI bus, AGAIN (Forrest Gump), to repair it.
Of course, THIS may NOT be the case for YOU, however, it was for ME, and I used THREE different manufacturers SSD drives. Really old, fairly old, and fairly new.
ALL OF WHICH PEOPLE ARE SUCCESSFULLY USING HERE ON THE PLANET. I'm also running OS v2.504 which is what the VAST majority of the others are running.
So, enter your new project with limited enthusiasm, and realistic expectations. You'll come out of it a better person, without the need for admission to the local asylum.

Thanks Falcon fo the touch of realism!!
Just updated the software to 2.505 by midi. All seems fine and even the VGA image appears better (fills more of the screen). Im looking at the SSD thing but I may put this on hold fo the moment and just default to an old school IDE HDD back up drive, just in case!

Hey folks, For the first time in almost two years, I used the SCSI2SD and VSWE to export and convert tracks. It took me a few days to remember how I did it, so I thought I'd document it here, in case anyone using SCSI2SD has trouble figuring it out. In order to do this, you'll need a computer that will run VSWE. I bought a $50 XP laptop off eBay that works fine.
1. Connect the SCSI2SD box to your VS2480's SCSI connection. 2. Format the SD card when the 2480 prompts you to do so. 3. Copy files from your 2480 drive to the SCSI2SD card. 3. Tricky part: You'll need to use a USB adapter that has an SD slot, as the computer won't read the SD card for some reason. You can buy the adapter off Amazon for a few dollars. 4. Insert the USB adapter/SD reader. Open the first file folder, highlight all of the files in the folder, and drag them to VSWE. 5. VSWE will recognize the project, and show it's name. 6. Create a folder for the song. Select the folder to export to. 7. Rip, and enjoy.
It's actually a pretty straight forward process, with the only confusing part being the need for a USB adapter. So far, the SCSI2SD box has been solid for backing up projects, so thanks again to whoever it was that figured it out.

I've been using one for a few years now and it works great. I don't record directly to it, but it's fantastic for backup. Way quicker than the CD backup, and works with vswavexport to convert to .wav files (assuming you have a PC that runs the program).
I'm currently selling all of my VS gear, including a scsi2sd.
