Me too. Slept like a baby from the two minute warning to about the 13 minute of the 3rd.

Chris is a bit pretentious...but no more so than middle-aged out of shape armchair critics stuffing their faces with junk food, looking for things not to like about someone else's work or success.

That was pretty lame. Not sure if it's Coldplay's fault but damn. A half time show honoring half time shows of the past?!? You've gotta be kidding. The NFL loves the smell of it's own butt. Embarrassing.
I think you'll find that Pepsi had a big hand/influence in the halftime show. Both Bruno and Beyonce have 50 million dollar deals with PepsiCo. I don't think Coldplay on their own can carry that big of a stage, especially sandwiched between two dance routine powerhouses.. At their own concerts, yea, they can pace things the way they want. Superbowl has become all about packing the most excitement, choreography, lighting, hundreds of people, and a handful of songs into scant few minutes. The theme was lame, video clips of past performances... It looked to me like pepsi used their influence to get their acts up. They were both on recent superbowls.

I joke that every weekend I'm treated to a Coldplay concert, as my back door neighbors jam what sounds like a limp dicked repetitive variations on U2 records over and over. #everyoneHasAStudio
That said, as much as I don't appreciate their music, I don't think that qualifies to call anyone a douchebag. He seems like a nice enough guy to me. But, then--I'm pretty sure the same troll has called me a DBag, so maybe like likes like. I mean, I don't appreciate MOST music, honestly. Does that make most musicians Dbags? I reserve that kind of sweeping statement for bankers and telecom giants.
“I used to rule the world; seas would rise when I gave the word,” Coldplay’s Chris Martin sang at the beginning of the Pepsi Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show on Sunday. On the morning after, he could now change those lyrics to “Coldplay rules the charts; sales rose when I sang those words.”
Although Beyoncé dominated buzz on Twitter with her guest appearance, headliner Coldplay is faring better in post-show sales on iTunes top 200 songs chart, according to data Forbes compiled: As of 7 a.m. PT, after an estimated more than 100 million people watched the halftime show, Coldplay has 11 songs charting with ”Adventure of a Lifetime” at No. 2, “Viva la Vida” at 8, “Paradise” at 10, “A Sky Full of Stars” at 26, “Fix You” at 30, “Hymm for the Weekend” at 33, “Clocks” at 38, “Yellow” at 50, “The Scientist” at 87, “Up&Up” at 156, and “Speed of Sound” at 172.

You always act like it's inconceivable that somebody could suck.
No, not at all. I want you to explain why. The band writes well enough, records decently enough, has played hundreds of shows. They seem to be able to play their instruments and sing well. They've managed to continually sell records in a tough decade and a half....80 million of so. They've won over 50 awards. None of that makes them better than other bands, nor should it mean you should automatically like them. But, if you're an expert at all this stuff you should be able to succinctly tell everyone why they suck.
