Just got the news that Matt passed away. No details yet but I know he had been sick for a long time. He had a heart and a voice of gold. I was lucky enough to have him sing on one of my compositions. Rest in peace, old friend...

Wow. I'd been keeping up with him and the progression of his illness on Facebook. He had been in a nursing home for several months and some months ago was able to return home. He was mostly paralyzed and unable to eat solid food. His family and friends moved mountains to enable him to live at home with accommodations. Makes you realize how insignificant your own problems really are.
RIP Matt.

I think it was risong. The "ri" stood for Rhode Island which is where he lived. I played his songs on the radio thing. Really good big voice country singer (think George Jones, Merle etc).
But I could be wrong.
