I use reaper for downloading my VS1880 into it. I know I used the command prompt program for part of this . but are their other options than reaper for allotting my vs files to be edited in daw . will logic audio or Cubase work with the vs wav tools to consolidate songs directly for editing. I assume that raw wav files converted into a pc can be arranged into any sequencer . I just want more compatibility than reaper. I learned this one ( reaper) because it was free and seemed to have support from this forum . can someone tell me what else is out there for this ?

No other daw will take the VS Songs and import them directly as Reaper is capable of doing. The only reason that Reaper can do so is because a very generous person once developed a plug-in that was made specifically for this purpose and installs in the Reaper FX folder and that you are using. There is no MORE compatibility than that.

If you don't like working with Reaper for some reason (which is technically NOT free, by the way), then you could render the VS tracks out of Reaper as individual files that these other daws can work with - that is, as .wav, mp3, or other such formats that Reaper is capable of rendering for you and that can be imported into those other programs.

Maybe Reaper is capable of doing many more things than you are currently aware of and maybe it would be worth your effort to dig deeper into it, since it is the ONLY program that can read VS Songs directly.

VSWE will export the wav files out of your song project backup data discs right onto your PC hard drive. From there you can import the wav files into any DAW of your choice.
