I know you two guys use Reaper, I use it for certain things, so I want to pick your brains for a sec. Let me start off by saying I am a "new-a-phobe", meaning, I'm comfy with how REAPER works for me, but I don't try any new things with it, for fear of messing up what I can already do with it.

All of that to say, I've just heard about REAPACKS, and realized that I'm missing out on a lot of cool stuff.

To show what neophyte I am, it took 3 hours just for me to figure out how to install the REAPACK extension, no exaggeration at all, either.

Any way, before I download my first "repository" are there any pitfalls or hidden trap doors that I need to be aware of?

Will the new effects install easily? etc etc etc......

Again, the slow kid needs some reassurance that I'm not going blow up my computer...lol.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Duck. I found that last night. I guess I just wanted reassurance from people that I "Know" and trust in the "REAL" world.

Will look into it -- just started with REAPER last year

But too frightened to load anything new .. Got it down now -- don't want some screen to change ......would be lost.

The template is set --loads and performs without a second thought.

I use maybe 2 apps ( EQ and COMP ) that's way over kill already.

Wow, cool. I haven't used that but looks really interesting. Thanks Greg!

You're welcome, Tom. Glad to know I'm not the only one just finding out about this...although apparently it's been around for close to 4 years now. Some of those effect "repository's" have some very good looking stuff in them.

just installed my first script: Chords_Scales_Arps.
with this one, you can add any chords with a right-click in the MIDI editor.
saves a lot of times. \:\)

available here:
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/7795/Chords_Scales_Arps.zip

here's a vid on how to install it:
https://youtu.be/_Enrx5vbA6k?t=170

Scripts like these make Reaper very open ended.
i don't recall seeing this on any other DAW.
