No, Roland doesn't service the 3 cards or the plugins (or much of anything VS related any more.)
This is the first I've heard of this. It makes sense in 96 since the 2480 will only playback something like only 8 or 12 tracks and only record 4 or 8 - it just can't handle it, old IT power.
You might be stuck having to import the wav files into a new session at 44.1. Another way around it would be to open your 48 or 96 session on one unit and catch the plugins in real time from the other unit (printing them back to the 48/96 unit's session.)
I know it's not optimal work flow, but you can at least consider it for finishing your track and utilizing the plugins.
