Heh. A few years back I was thrilled to get a hefty tax refund.
The next year, as I was reviewing my forms getting ready to do it all again, I discovered that I had slipped a decimal point and deducted $41,000 in mortgage interest instead of $4,100. I filed an amended return and sent back the money. Fortunately I caught it before they did and avoided a penalty.
Some of my friends thought I was foolish, and that the IRS probably would never have caught my mistake.

He was quite happy about it.
