I backed up disk 1 and disk 2 for a larger project and want to transfer to Reaper.
Went through Cd2Roland process for each disk.
Everything appeared to be ok.

Went through Wave Export process for disk one.
Drop SONG.VR6 file into Wave Export, the green boxes light up, select all, hit export button. They load into folder and I can drop the resulting wav files into Reaper. Everything works great.

But when I drop disk 2 Song.VR6 file into Wave Export screen it drops on ok, you can highlight the text, but no green blocks light up, nothing happens. All of the other .VR6 files appear to be there below the SONG.VR6 file, i.e. TAKE7B1E.VR6, TAKE7B1F.VR6, etc. Any ideas ?

NOTE: I noticed there is no Eventlst file on disk 2, (is there supposed to be?)

It's been ages since I tried to make and/or recover a multi-disc backup, so I'm only suggesting a couple of things to consider.

1- Bear mentions a few times on the forums (usually the 1680 forum) the very specific set of instructions on recovering multi-disc backups... Have you made sure to follow them?
All I remember is the importance of recovering each disc to the same folder when you first rip them - Is this correct?... I've forgotten.

2- Since disc 2 is tied to disc 1 and if the two should have been ripped into the same folder (IIRC), then it might be true that disc 2 by itself would not contain all the necessary backup files, such as possibly, an eventlist.

That could explain, too, why VSWE didn't show any green blocks.

You might double check your ripping process.

Do you have a 2480CD or 2480HD?

If it's a 2480CD, upgrade it to a DVD unit, reload your project onto the hard drive, resave it back to dvd - then it will be on one disc, and the VSWE will work no problem.

Thanks guys, I got lucky.... I think....and thought I should share.

It turns out that after running CD2Roland I got all of the VR6 files from disk 2 in to a DEPOSIT folder on my PC (per normal). THEN I uninstalled the 64 bit version of Reaper (I was using) and installed the 32 bit Reaper. I found I could drop each or all of the VR6 files from the DEPOSIT folder directly into a new Reaper project file. From there it was just a matter of sorting the tracks for each song, which wasn't so bad since the sequence letters/numbers of the VR6 files line up pretty well with each individual songs. In this case 4 songs with 7 tracks/song. I was done in 10 minutes.
It seems my problem was the 64 bit version of Reaper wasn't working, since the 32 bit version is working. Hopefully this work around might help someone else. I was able to export from Reaper into actual wav files (which is what I wanted to do in the first place) and then load the wavs into Logic Pro X which I have done. Now on to my next post for a related question...this post is getting a bit long.

glad you got it sorted out and it didn't require a major fix.
