Some artistes in my studio like the MTP sound, and choose it for their recordings. Others want clarity, and if you want that then you can't use MTP. By clarity I mean an accurate representation of what the music sounded like as played.
For songs I record that I have written I do not use MTP anymore. It is not really a matter of good or bad.
The MTP setting gives music an older analog equipment sound.
I can hear the difference, and it is dramatic, between uncompressed...
24/48 Best 16/48 Very good 16/44.1 Good enough
Just not worth the track count loss for me to use 24/96. Plus the best mics I own are Rode NT1As.
