Hi VS'ers. I just picked up a VS890, and am having a lot of fun with it. I've played around with Tascam cassette machines in my youth, and Pro Tools in my adulthood, and being in between these two extremes feels just right for me, for now.

I'm also reasonably computer savvy, and was looking into the CD-ROM export issue. By nosing around, I basically figured out how to pull the RDAC files off the CD individually. Only after some more reading did I figure out that I've basically duplicated what a user named Bear had already done.

So in the spirit of not pointlessly wasting my time, and after reading this thread it really sounds like decoding the RDAC format is something that's solved.

Anyone have a copy of the source code for that? I'd be extremely appreciative for anything at all -- even the first version that just does MT1 or MTP.

Wherever this goes, I'll share my work with y'all. And if anyone else wants to work on this problem in Python or otherwise Linux/Windows/Mac cross-platform, pile on here!

The source code was shared at one point. I'm pretty sure I downloaded it as well. I will try to find it at home (I'm at work).

The thing I would like is to be able to RDAC encode wav files so we could go back and forth. I think they were worried that it would violate some legality. I think the encoding code was actually in there but commented out.

I did ask in one thread if he would put the code up publicly.
