Hey vs Guys, please help, I picked up a very clean 2480 over the holidays, but cant seem to pull up anything in the "projects" button like I can on my other unit. The drive doesn't seem to have different sectors. The serial number is 2073758.
Did they make a scaled down "demo unit" And if so, is there any way I can make this a full scale unit? Any help will be appreciated, Thanks, Brian

I am pretty sure Roland never made demo units. At least I never heard of one before.

Are there any playable files on the drive?

Hello Starliner,
I think Ive figured it out, I have about 5 buttons that wont work on the R board. Ive ordered another from ebay, One of the buttons was the project button, Making me think it has some type of scaled back demo hard drive, But Im pretty sure its a bad buttons issue, Probably because of setting up in dampness, Oterwise It seems like a super clean unit. Wish this wasn't broke, But Thats how it goes.

This site hardly has any users anymore, and we really don't need negative creeps running off the people who still use it.

Couldn't agree more. He's done it to me as well... While there aren't that many of us left, those that have purchased a used unit and are possibly new to the 2480 come here for instruction. That's what this forum is for.

These machines are old, sitting around for many years, you don't think the buttons and faders get dirty and accumulate shit in them. I must apologize to you folks if i've hurt your feelings. are you okay powermac, can i offer you a tissue, maybe a service animal to ease your trauma from my harsh words. \:o

hey blair, it's pretty easy to be a dickhead to someone
when you aren't face to face with them huh ? fuck you.

and i'm curious, do you have any kids? if you do and they
come to you with a question, or need help with a problem,
do you blow them off with the same attitude ?

once again, fuck you.

Brilliant observation... except there are these things called cases in which we store things. Dust and dirt aren't the only thing that cause electronics to fail.

And you have the wit of a 12 year old. You've demonstrated this over and over again on this site. There's a million websites with idiot trolls like yourself. You should consider spending more time with your ilk, and less time annoying the adults. I doubt anyone here wants to read your juvenile BS anymore.

Whew. That went south real quick. Lol.
Here’s a thought..... has anyone figured out
How to make these units controlled by an iPad or wireless monitor.?
Today’s units have the features.... just not the amazing sound of these old units.
