Yo VS Brothers I am back on the planet after 10 years...I switched to Digital performer and Mac G5 but I at one time owned an 880EX and loved it for the effects , reverbs and vocoder and mastering tools. Also great for live recording.. So this week I bought another one on Ebay. I would like to do the CF card upgrade. can some one point me to some up to date links of the correct parts. Thanks great to be back

Hello JPS KID. I have converted my 880 EX to a SD card. I'm sure uptil dawn or bear will chime in here soon to clarify exactly what you need to convert your machine.

In the mean time - here are the parts I used on mine - (I have a SD card conversion... NOT CF) I would NOT order any of these until we make absolutely sure of what exact parts you need. I have NOT checked lately - to see if these exact web sites still have these items available for purchase either...

SD card

Connection Cable

IDE / SD adaptor -

Why my good man do you need another cable?. My vs 880 has a 50 pin cable going to a connector that has a connector I am not sure of the mounts in the original caddy tray and then that pugs into the 44 pin. Why couldn't I just get a 50 pin CF card reader and avoid all the adapters...honestly the current 880 HD tray has 3 different connectors??

I don't need another cable....

I don't know if a 50 pin will work with a 44???

Usually the Roland HD basically plugs straight into the mother board via the caddy tray. So if you have 3 different connections on the tray - I'm not sure what kind of modification was done.
