I am disturbed by the proliferation of revenge fantasy movies. It's always the same plot: some bad guys mess with the wrong guy and do something reprehensible. Therefore, the hero is justified in whatever he does and the bad guys deserve what happens to them. And now, movie villains usually are maimed several times in the course of dying. A bad guy gets stabbed, backs into a threshing machine then falls off the building into a vat of acid where he is devoured by eels.
What do these popular movies say about us? Could "Judgement At Nuremberg" or even "Schindler's List" be made today?
