Sincerely.... these folks have been getting pounded with heavy rain and tornadoes. 9 inches of rain in the last week in the area where our own Spikerama lives. Hope your doing ok Larry.

This is our storm season in this area and it has been an active one. I've had some damage here at the house and a close friend of mine has a $60,000 insurance claim pending.

My contracting business has had more hail strike related work this season than in the last 10 combined.

Thanks, Dave. I hope you're missing the storms.

How many tornadoes has Texas and Oklahoma had in the last four days?

Last night I was watching the news and they had a split screen showing multiple tornadoes. We've had tornadoes the last four days in a row. Many highways are closed and towns are surrounded by water. Towns are being evacuated. Lakes are 30 feet above normal. Barges are breaking loose and floating down the river.

Just wondering...do you planeteers see this on the news?

Good luck.

Here in the Sierra, we're dealing with The Winter That Never Ends. It's been snowing and drizzling for a week.

I wonder what could be causing all of this freak weather? Sine we've ruled out climate change it must be...SATAN!

Spike, I am not complaining. Living in the Sierra is a dream come true. And snow in the Sierra is very different from snow in Chicago.

Reports of chaos and destruction in Missouri are greatly exaggerated by the media. They need to feed the news cycle.
We had some isolated severe storms, it happens here.

Thanks Dave for your kind concern.

Life goes on.

But Fox News tells the fair and balanced truth with slowed down video of Pelosi.

You must’ve missed the one of Trump punching a tornado.

My son is doing his internship right there in Wichita and says they've been hammered with really bad storms for the past 11 days, with only a 2 or 3 partial day break here and there.

Living on campus at Wichita State University and says the locals told him the tornado season is starting off much worse this year than last year.

We text or Skype with him daily during this bad weather after he gets home from the Avionics Research Institute which is about 1/4 mile away from home for him.

Thanks, Dave. I was wondering about the numbers.

Flooding is still the problem near me. Muskogee, OK and Ft. Gibson, OK are near an area called "Three Forks." This is the spot where three flooding rivers are meeting. The lakes and dams that are above Three Forks are at their capacity and water is being released at record rates. All the storms here and north of here compound the problem. We still have towns underwater and major hwys underwater.

From DWNMT's story:

 Quote:
Scientists also say climate change is responsible for more intense and more frequent extreme weather such as storms, droughts, floods and fires, but without extensive study they cannot directly link a single weather event to the changing climate.
…and this, my friends, is one of the best explanations of the difference between weather and climate.

Thanks, Dave.

The National Weather Service has reported 41 tornadoes in Eastern Oklahoma across the last 10 days.

Preliminary data shows that 54 tornadoes have been reported in the area since April 30.
