I'll still be alive, making and listening to music. The rest of the world can do what they like.

My little VS2480 ~~ probably wouldn't be able to make any modern music == beyond what I have been feeding it -- for the past 20 years ..

Ten years from now I will be alive and making music and listening to music and playing music with my friends. By that time I may even have become reasonably proficient on the cello, banjo and accordion.

Why should I give a flying f*ck about what billionaire capitalists want and predict about how they can make more money turning people into mind-controlled mood-controlled zombie-machine hybrids. I basically say F*ck Them and their billions. They should be spending their money helping people, buying medicines and vaccines for children and improving life for people instead of hoarding their bucks and dreaming of making and manking more money turning the Earth into power and machinery.

F*ck his sterile machine mind-control vision of a world of mindless producing-consuming robotic humanoids too mellowed on their mind control sounds to ever make a peep about oppression, injustice and the destruction of the Earth.

I am with Doofie. The rest of the world and mindless can do whatever the billionaire overlords dictate to them. I intend t remain fully human instead of some manipulated machine-human hybrid.

Clair de Lune huh?

I've never done THAT one before.

I'll get to work on it pretty soon.

i am 'reverse engineering' some of it at the moment. ;\)

the guy had a gift for 'butchering' chords in a pleasant way.
like four note chords omitting the 3rd, etc

what i get from this is that i have to look at chords in a new way, and not things that have definite root names...
maybe look at them like stacks of intervals instead and forget about trying to put them in neat little boxes with tags on them?...

You should change the title to "humans won't MAKE/play music in a decade". There's nothing about not listening to music in the article.

And the VERY next sentence says:

 Quote:
Instead, the Khosla Ventures CEO believes that consumers will be listening to music that is designed specifically for them, their preferences, and their needs.

...and goes to on to explain what that means for the rest of the article.

I will probably still be on SCSI and Floppies -- Might be difficult to experience AI music with such devices .. If ya stay just behind the curve > they can't get to you.

another thing about "Clair de Lune" is that it's very ambiguous; the key is changing constantly.
'home' is only at the very end of the song.

it's officially written in Db major, but some 4 bars section are in C Maj, some in C# Dorian, some in D Minor.

and i only analyzed 16 bars! (4X4)
i'm tempted to reverse engineer the whole song just to learn what's in there.

when the machines can compose music like that, then we can all give up.
but i don't think that's for tomorrow!
or anytime soon. lol

AI is NOT an evil demon, you stupid fucks!

AI is a tool.

I'll repeat that for those of you that read with your lips moving (I'm talkin' to you, moonie).

AI IS A TOOL.

AI is no more evil than a hammer. But if you use a hammer to repair your musical instrument, you may get minimal results.

Good Lord, I'm posting to a bunch of fucking Luddites.

You are preaching to One proud Luddite -- here

AI >> can be a very dangerous tool -- just like a hammer ,,,

Artificial Intelligence -- is just that === artificial. Not sure if I touch much on that technology .. just not experienced enough in the AI department. Open the hatch HAL

Right. So don't use a hammer when a scalpel is needed.

whenever i read a thread about AI i think you're referring to father time or Al - there has to be some sort of unconscious reference here i'm just not sure what the connection is.

Well, as far as music goes, you get the same results

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.
