Has anyone had the experience of a single switch not responding to the toggle wheel, while all the others seem to be working fine? In my case, it's the Vari-Pitch on/off switch. Is there a known fix? (I restarted the machine, with no change.)

I'm not sure what you mean about the vari-pitch not responding to the toggle wheel - what's the toggle wheel?

As far as I remember the vari-pitch is turned on or off by the switch that's labeled vari-pitch and nothing else.

Do you have any gear connected to your digital connections? If I recall, the vari-pitch might lock in place, if some other digital gear has control of the digital clock, at whatever sample rate it is set to. That's because the vari-pitch changes the sample rate, when you use it.

Sorry if I've just taken you off course. That's all that comes to mind.

Thanks, and you might be on to something. I have a mic running through an interface and into one of the DIGITAL input channels. I'll try taking that out of lock to see if it works. Although I need to be able to record my vocals with the pitch altered in order to accomplish the effect I'm after....hmmm.

And sorry, I meant the jog wheel, used to turn the Sw on and off.

I get what you're saying, but i guess i don't remember using the jog wheel to turn the vari-pitch switch on and off.

i think your only solutions to get the effect you're after will be awfully convoluted, unless you are willing to make your input an analog one. Ditch the digital connection for this one task and you should be able to get the job accomplished with minimal fuss. Then go back digital, once you've got this one task done.

I just tested this, and it seems the VariPitch switch is disabled when there is an incoming signal coming in through a digital channel input. Which I guess makes sense. When I turned the digital sync setting to INT, turning the time/value wheel (which I have been calling the jog wheel) allowed me to turn the VariPitch switch on and off as it should. Mystery solved.

Guess I'll use one of the XLR input channels in this case, no biggie.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Well, I'm glad that between the two of us you got it figured out to your satisfaction. I wish I'd been more on top of it when you asked and not been picking around in the dark matter for answers.

Yeah - that time/value wheel should be called a jog wheel - like the rest of the world might call it. I always call it the big knob. \:\)
