MeteorSharks MeteorSharks Planeteer Registered: 05/12/18 Posts: 76 Loc: Oregon	My Master fader jumps around by itself for some reason. I set it at say 0db and the tracks play, but about 15 seconds later it will jam up high. If I lower it, it fights me to stay high. I went to Utility-automix set up thinking that might be the problem, and hit erase all automix data. That still didn't help. It does it on all the projects as well. Hopefully someone has seen this before. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks, Ron

LarryG LarryG Planeteer Registered: 02/04/00 Posts: 3100 Loc: FL	Hi, Ron. Think you're on the right path... my guess is that the prob lies within AM. Recommend you do a search here, and carefully read up on the several threads that address fixing AM issues. You'll get several ideas on how to proceed. If you have questions understanding the threads, ask us. As a possible work-around, you can try setting the master fader to the level you want it to be (always leave mine at 0 db), and then record that level (Master Level) in AM at the start of your project. Then check that the level actually remains constant throughout the tune (at all your markers). Let us know how it goes. Good luck! /L _________________________ /LarryG

MeteorSharks MeteorSharks Planeteer Registered: 05/12/18 Posts: 76 Loc: Oregon	Thanks Larry. I was just about to swap faders with track 2 (so I could still use tracks 1 & 2 as a stereo track). If that works I can just buy another fader. The AM approach might be a better test of whether or not it is a fader problem without tearing my unit apart. I'll give it a shot and let you all know. Ron

I went into AM setup in the project I was having trouble with and unchecked the fader box and the pan box. They were the only boxes checked and then save it. Now the Master fader jitters a little, about .1 or .2 db. Which is a lot better than the 2 or 3 db it was jumping to before. (I can live with that) Maybe when I start a new project it will eliminate even that much. But at least I can finish mastering the project I'm working with and move on. Thanks so much Larry.

eutak eutak Planeteer Registered: 01/21/09 Posts: 154 Loc: UK	If automixing a linked pair of channels (or indeed just fader-linked) you have to choose 'offset level' rather than 'level' in the target select screen. Not doing so leads to the strange fader level jumps that you describe.
