Someone had told me that you can hook up a keyboard "and" mouse to the 2000 by using a PS2 splitter. Has anyone tried this? It's not working for me. The mouse works, but not the keyboard.
Thanks,
Ron

According to your pdf manual, which doesn't say a lot about the subject, you may need to "activate" the keyboard. I assume, based on the scant info, that means there are settings to make after you've plugged it in to turn it on/off and to set it for usa/japan........ don't know what else. Have you done those things? Did you plug the keyboard and mouse in before turning on the VS, using the power switch (and not from standby mode)?

I don't know if the keyboard/mouse can be seen by the VS from standby mode, so it's something to consider.

Is you keyboard a ps2 keyboard, or are you using a usb keyboard with a ps2 adapter? This may be a sticking point, if you are.

I found that if using a PS2 splitter with the VS2000 I had to plug the mouse into the keyboard socket (purple) and the keyboard into the mouse socket (green). Strange but true.
I have USB mouse and USB keyboard hooked up using USB to PS2 adaptors.

Thanks. I found the keyboard on/off switch in settings. I think the manual has an error on how to get to settings. I got to it through the VGA. Anyway, having a keyboard is so much nicer.

When you say PS2 splitter, are you referring to Sony PlayStation? I've never had one and do not know what they look like. I hooked up my Video monitor and can't get it to even work. I am using a VGA to HDMI converter (a plug adapter, lcd screen to video monitor) and absolutely nothing appears on the screen.

Your issue may just be the fact that you're using a vga to hdmi adapter. Possibly, and knowing how particular the VS machines are about most things, your machine wants to see strictly vga.

If you have a vga monitor about, or a vga optional jack on your monitor, you might try a straight vga to vga cable.

I got me an Y cable DIN, but doesn't work, even with activate settings (which is default anyway)
I am still happy with only mouse and video monitor, but would love to have a keyboard too

I have the same issue. Once that was sorted, all was well.

I use the USB to PS2 adapters as well. For a mouse, try the Logitech Trackman Marble.
