Has anyone tried using one of these on the internal hard drive port, with two internal IDE drives (one set to master, one set to slave, i presume)?
Thx

I'm pretty certain that the VS won't recognize the second drive and doesn't have a way to deal with it, if it did recognize it. The VS is a computer, but a very narrowly tasked computer.

Probably, but given how easy it is to try, i'm surprised no one has.
I've got a spare HD lying around, i'll order this cable and give it a shot. Would be awesome if it worked.

Also, i'm surprised no one has made their SSD external, simply by adding in a SATA extension between the board and the SSD. There is plenty of space for the cable to come out the front, where the DVD drive is.
That way you wouldn't need to bother with pricey scsi2sd options, you'd have your main drive outside and easily accessible.
Then you just need a cheap SATA to USB adapter for your PC and you can backup & export much much quicker than with an SD card.

Since the VS will recognize only up to 8 partitions of 10 GB each, adding a second hard drive (in case it works, mind you. I seem to remember FalconEddy suggesting in pretty strong terms that it will not, and he is the ultimate digital specialist here... ) will not benefit you all that much. It would be like putting a 200 GB drive and wondering why you can use only 80.

Anyways. I wouldn't mess with it.
