$200 for a divorce sounds like a bargain to me

Don’t tell her?
Or, you’re going to flip it for a profit but in the meantime need to recondition it’s playability.

For $200 you can’t afford not. to do it.

You need to stash some cash acorns away for such purposes. Then it’s not on your debit card

Jeesh, you just reminded me of a time years ago when I got a multi-effects box and snuck it into my studio when my wife wasn't looking. I just slipped it into the rack, thinking she wouldn't know the difference, The next time she walked into the studio to tell me dinner was ready, she immediately fixed her eyes on it, and said, "When did you get THAT one?"

"Heh-heh...uh...oh that old thing?..."

Hah! “I’ve had that one for a while, just repositioned it in my rack”

I get a little more slack since I generally make a portion of our income from my “tools”

Good deal. Probably a profit to be made.

If it's a real National in good condition, you have to buy it. If it's not really National, that's another story. Tell the wife that you can make a few hundred bucks no problem. Once you get it home, tell her how much you like it. If she makes you sell it and it's the real thing, someone will buy it for more money. It sounds like I'm not the only one who'd like to see pictures if you get it.
