dumb question: My VS-1880 hard drive is configured into (3) 2GB partitions. drive 0,1,2. When you defrag (initialize) the drive, does it defrag only 1 partition at a time, or does it defrag all partitions in one fell swoop?
There is no defrag - only initialize. That's formatting the entire drive. So, don't try to affect a single partition. It can't be done. Best you can do on a single partition is to use SONG Optimize where you feel you don't need to keep old scraps of recorded over tracks and edits.... that would be done on single SONGS and will free up some drive space, if there's any data to be dumped when you perform the operation. Also, if you suspect problems with a partition and/or SONG(S), you can run Drive Check on a single partition in the hopes of recovering from corrupt data.
