Dears;

I hooked up a drum machine (Zoom RT 223) via midi and set it to be slave to my VS-880ex. All work fine (RT received signal and starts playback when I press PLAY/RECORD on VS) when I start from the beginning of the song but when I want to PLAY/RECORD somewhere else (say measure 3 beat 1) there is a delay with RT which causes the rhythm t go out of sync.

Has anybody else experienced this? Is there a fix for that?

Regards

The MIDI sync takes a few beats to sync, so always allow a measure or two pre-roll and you should be fine. Also, it hardly ever stays in sync, if you jump ahead or back while in play, so get in the habit of stopping, moving to the new location and then starting again (allowing a measure or two of pre-roll for sync to happen).

Thank you uptilldawn. So it turns out my expectations were rather high in MIDI sync.

It should be easy enough to compensate. MIDI sync is always a bit sluggish, though once it locks in it's solid enough.

i donít think your expectations are too high. If the drum machine recognises song position pointer (spp) it should sync and know where it is in the song. I used to work wuth this all the time back in the day and it worked remarkably well.
