Couple of prying screwdrivers and pliers -- hasn't helped too much > to remove the chassis top ..

Found a note from KARL :: Just have to be diligent -- and hope you don't damage anything ..

"It's been a while since I had mine apart, but as I recall, I use a small screwdriver between the side of the caddy and the side of the lid, I kinda remember small slots where they meet for a scrrewdriver tip....

Anyway, I never remeber the thing sliding....it just pops straight off, as I recall."

Don't do a full physical format or surface scan - just the quick format and you should be good..... that is, only if you even need to format. If it's already formatted for the VS, then just delete whatever projects are on it that you don't want anymore (or back them up and then delete).
No overnight or week long format necessary.

I don't know if it's advisable to stop it, but maybe it's okay?
Will you be devastated if it messes up that hd?
If so, then probably should let it go.
If it were me, maybe I'd stop it.

Ya - no telling whether the VS timeline isn't displaying right, or if it's hung up, is there..... must be a "feature" \:\)

Midnight's a long ways off for you.....

Since when do you doubt the VirDIS? You know it will work right...

If it didn't take, try again, but with physical format and surface scan turned off...... quick format and partition should be all that's required.

Best buy another 80gb --format it --and have it on hand ... at least we have the HD model -- and I have learned how to remove the caddy >> pop in a new one ...

AND never track in the VS == direct to VIRDIS
