Feels so weird. Weird to segment humanity by single or hooked up, and weird because there will certainly be some women I have had lunch or dinner with or gone to a movie or two with over the last few months but decided not to go any further with them. I'm hoping there will be some surprises, women I have not met or had never considered.
But I'm like an inch away from not showing up--just seems so phony and uncomfortable, but I suspect I'm wrong about that.

I would be quite apprehensive about going to a singles' party, and I think I would expect other prospective attendees would be also. But once I got there I expect I would warm up to the people in the gathering.

It was weird but fun. I actually connected a little bit with a lovely and unusual person, gave her a lift home and we just exchanged good morning whatsapps.

Most houses down here don’t have air-conditioning. It’s kind of San Diego weather most of the year. The only really hot month is May, but everybody has ceiling fans.

By unusual… First of all, she’s quite gorgeous and glamorous in a traditional way. Blonde hair, blue eyes, great figure. She’s a yoga and Pilates instructor. Second, she had a pretty serious medical misadventure a few years ago and maybe as a result has a really positive and optimistic outlook on life. She’s 55 and looks 45. She really likes to spin on the dance floor – she must’ve done it for three minutes straight. And she never threw up :-)
I just sent her a link to one of my songs and she seemed to really enjoy it, coming up with creative imagery of what she imagined while listening.
