...(not that it takes a genius to make this prediction) - that when private concentrated capital is directly or indirectly threatened by climate change, a warming planet, and it's wider effects... then and only then will we start to see meaningful policy change. I stand by that prediction.

JP Morgan economists warn climate crisis is threat to human race

The challenge to that is the threat is likely to be felt at different times in different places. So how do you get enough people on board at the same time? My guess is that by then it will be too late for most of the planet.

Yeah - I'm concerned about the "too late" part myself. Either way - IMO, meaningful movement, regardless of if it's too late to whatever degree, will only happen once a critical mass of private concentrated capital sees the cliff edge dead ahead with their own eyes. Once it's clear (to them) that people's fortunes are in clear and present danger - I expect meaningful policy change to follow - again, even if it's "too late".

if it's really too late then won't the "meaningful" part be incorrect?

I hear you. And get what you mean. Look at it this way - I meant meaning-ful in that "well intentioned" sort of way. But certainly - meaningful and adequate are two different things.
