Frank Griffith's "VS2480 Brown Bag Manual" and "VS2480 for Newbies PDF" are NOW Available for Download.

1. FranksBrownBagWord.zip - after clicking on this link, you will need to save the file to your computer, and then unzip it. Inside the zip file are individual Microsoft Word files about different topics for the VS2480. You will need MS Word or other software that can view the Word documents.

2. FranksVS2480ForNewbies.pdf - the PDF should open when you click the link, and then you can save the PDF to your computer.

Many thanks to ricco for stepping up and taking over sending these files out for Frank over the last year. Great job, and thanks again.

And another big thanks needs to go to jazzbassnick for hosting these files!!! That is really awesome!

Both of these guys show the spirit of Frank Griffith in supporting the VS Planet community.

Thank you!!!

Happy Holidays, everyone!

This is fantastic!! Thankyou "Wish", "jassbassnick", and everyone else who made this site possible.
Just an FYI: I will still continue to send out guides if requested. Otherwise, I will redirect to the download site Wish has put together with help from jazzbassnick (for providing the download site).
Again; thanks to all and anyone I missed. I think this will work much better for the VS PLANET community.
A Very Happy New Year to you all!
Warm boards, and inspired tracks!
cheers
Rick

Frank (fill me in please)

Anyhow years ago he had sent me something I needed for my setup, that was truly amazing, and was on his dime. I tried to square it away with him,but insisted no bother.

Man time flies, life goes on. God works in mysterious ways. This morning I was looking for a power strip to use for a Mac Pro I'm selling later on this afternoon. (WOW), I came across the package he sent me years ago I mentioned on another thread about Frank ( god put that there ). that is so cool.

What about stringjammer, he he still around here helping ?

Yep, Stringjammer is still around.

He's been busy, but he made a post not long ago.

I have two VS2400's that I bought back in 2006 and I'm still going strong with them!

Can someone inform me of when Frank Griffith passed? I used to be on here years ago but lost touch. I remember speaking on the phone with Frank many years ago and he sent me all the helpful materials to learn the 2400. He was such a nice guy and it's not the same without him here.

I've actually bought a computer based recording system a while back as well, but I just couldn't get myself (yet) to learn all about it to actually use. I've been using Roland since the VS880 days and just feel comfortable with them and having real faders and knobs.

Of course I'm limiting myself somewhat from what I could do if I really learned the computer, but for now I'm comfortable with the limitations.

One song off my last CD, 100% recorded, mixed and mastered on VS2400. Drums are from the Boss DR-880

I talked personally with Frank for several years and he was just the neatest man ever. I miss him as I'm sure many of you do as well. I didn't know of his passing until I called one day to try to talk with him and his wife informed me that he had passed. Great man and thank you for honoring him continuously as I'm sure he is very much aware of.

I started playing with my 2480 again after my cheap Fostex died - I've never been tech smart enough to do much with the Roland, and the manual ight as well be in Swedish, so I broke out the email that Frank Griffin sent me. I was shocked when I signed on and saw the "in memory of" notice. Never met him, but he was generous and friendly, and with his papers I've become practically okay on my machine. All the best to his extended family, including this site.

Larry Frank actually mailed me a PCI card way back then, and didn't want nothing. Super cool dude. Also whatever happened to Chazz Demeyer ?

Wow can't believe how time flies. Without all the great people here I never thought I would actually be getting paid recording.

After two decades I decided to fools around with my bass. A simple idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIs71III8wU
