So playing with ms 880 after not using it for 15 years I discovered that B inputs shut off when A is used. Is there any way to be able to use more than 4 inputs at a time (without an external mixer)? Say I wanted to record 5 channels separately (3 on 1/4" and 2 on RCA ). Is it possible to achieve through a hack/mod? I don't have an immediate need for it right now, but it would be nice to know I could do it if needed. I've tried using the Aux inputs, but I don't really know how to use those. If I could do that I'd at least have 6 inputs.

I think it should be possible to use the digital inputs. But the 880 will only record up to four tracks simultaneously.

You might keep an eye out for an 880EX or an 890. They have six analog inputs and will record up to eight tracks simultaneously.
