Hello, its been a while since I've been around here. I am thinking of buying a second VS 2480 recorder. I know I can sync these 2 recorders to have 48 channels. Now, the question is if it's possible to just use 1 monitor(screen) on which I can see both recorders? Is there anyone out there who has connected 2 recorders on one screen?
Thanks in advance
Morris

The VS-2480 video output is a straight-up VGA port. Depending on your demands, there are solutions that will do what you ask to varying degrees (VGA switch boxes, dual input ultra wide monitors), but in the end, VGA simply doesn’t work that way. Connecting two VS’s means they are synced and that one (master) controls the other (slave), but it doesn’t turn them into a single machine.

Be nice -- but never gonna happen with the VGA protocol

KVM Switcher. Usually 4 in 1 out Keyboard Video & Mouse.
How do You know which view belongs to which VS?
Project Name, and Track Names.

Thanks for your comments.....I thought....use a wide screen.....on one screen half of the view is the slave and the other half the master. Guess that won't work then

No it wont AFAIK. I feel the KVM switch is better for workflow anyway, so You are clear about which workstation You are currently operating at a given moment.

If you got room for two 2480´s side by side you got room for two VGA´s too.
Better to have two screens so you see what´s happening on each VS than to
switch a knob on a A / B split box ... Less confusion and misstakes
That´s how I got it set up. Two 17" VGA screens, not wide screens ... the VS
only send "letter box" image anyway and at low resolution, so if "stretched" the
picture get a bit blurry.
And you need keyboard and mouse for both 2480´s, or a A / B switch box as
mentioned before, but only for keyboard and mouse \:\)

Cheers !
