Hi All,

I've been lurking these forums since oh... 2007 maybe? Thirteen years later here's my first post.
Long story short, I've owned a 1680 since 1999 and finally made the jump over to 2480 last week.

I have two questions which I've been googling / forum searching for the last two days and have had not much luck finding answers so - apologies if these have been covered in prior posts. :-)

1) I imported my projects over from the 1680 to the 2480. They transferred well enough... other than all my carefully crafted Automix settings. I really don't want to have to go through and redo those mixes. The "tap in" positions are all still there, but it seems like the associated snapshot data is not. Is there some kind of trick to this? Or do these simply not transfer?

2) SENS knobs... three of them are broken (just the plastic ring at the top of the knob). If I find replacements, how easy are these to replace? Is it just a matter of pulling the knob off and putting a new one on? Or is there some disassembly required?

Thanks all for your time and any responses!

Hi, new owner too, so i can't really help for the Automix import. But I got pretty good at tearing it apart since i have two faulty channels!

So yes, the SENS knobs are removed by pulling them up. But be careful : they actually consist of a white plastic sleewe (with pointer on top) put on a rubbery black body. If you lift them, you may end up only getting the white sleeve, and accidentally press it between your fingers and break it.

I had the less issues with this sleeve slipping by turning the pot to point at 9 o'clock, and place my thumb and index at 6 and 12. This way you press on top and bottom of the actual "D" shape of the axis, and it slides better without sleeve slipping.

I had one marker broken on my unit, it glued perfectly back in place (there's not much strain on it anyway).

ANd finally, i didn't find any matching replacement. If you do, let me know! But you can easily find 16 equivalent narrow D-shaft knobs online i guess...

Thanks Bou,

Exactly the type of information I was looking for! I will proceed with caution.

There are a couple of current ebay listings for knobs.

A simple search for "2480 knobs" should return them.
