Hi 2480ers, I just started using the 3-card, and interested in using the Antares auto-tune. Can someone give me the workflow. For instance, do you use print it live, use it as a postfade effect, use it/print it in mastering room and then bounce it back???. I just cannot get started on it, I just get stuck, and can't find much on line--so if someone could give me a step by step, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks!

Hellu . This description is easiest to view on a VGA screen .
I use it ( if necessary ) in mixing process, inserting AutoTune on vocal channel´s EFFECT INSERT, and then go to EZ ROUTING page, link a "cable" from FX RETURN 1 to the channel you want to record the new autotuned vocals on in RECORDING TRACK block .
Arm that channel ( red blinking light ) start the song and check that sound is coming in by looking at input meters or by moving the fader. Original track ON ( Green light ) Fader up properly ( unity ? ) Do a test recording .
If original vocal track already is EQ´ed and sounds good there´s no need to EQ the new
autotuned track, at least keep it at a minimum ..... The EQ setting is also printed to the new autotuned track.
If necessary, choose the proper key in AutoTune plug in page for the song , for example "A minor" , or just keep it cromatic , your choice ....
The "RETUNE" knob adjust speed of correction, if you want subtle correction = "Slow".
If you want "Cheer-ish" effect = "Fast".

Hope that´s a kick in the right direction. Basic and "simple" , but there are probably more ways to do it

Cheers !

PM your email address and I'll send you the PDF owners manual for the Antares Autotune VS specifically for the 3 card.

Cheers,
Eric

Ahhh, c'mon sage, the appreciation for a hardware/software combination product is in the aggravation produced from continuously going down the wrong path of trial and error, and error, and error, and... \:D

How you doin' man? Catch/message me on Facebook sometime, ok?

Hellu again .....

Just noticed that I made a mistake in my "workflow" description above

Here´s the edited version :

Hellu . This description is easiest to view on a VGA screen .
I use it ( if necessary ) in mixing process, inserting AutoTune on vocal channel´s EFFECT INSERT, and then go to EZ ROUTING page, link a "cable" from TRACK MIXER block vocal channel´s to the channel you want to record the new autotuned vocals on in RECORDING TRACK block .
Arm that channel ( red blinking light ) start the song and check that sound is coming in by looking at input meters at HOME screen (Page 1, F3) or by moving the fader.
( And compressor too )
If necessary, choose the proper key in AutoTune plug in page for the song , for example "A minor" , or just keep it cromatic , your choice ....
The "RETUNE" knob adjust speed of correction, if you want subtle correction = "Slow".
If you want "Cheer-ish" effect = "Fast".

Sorry for any confusion due to the first post ... I wrote it from memory
and my memory failed

Cheers !

In your correction, I did not see one item you may have missed - I think when you said Cheer-ish, you might have meant Cher-ish. (Cher’s hit single ‘Do You Believe in Love’ was the song that popularized the autotune setting you describe.)

Yes, my correction is correct ( I hope )
It was my first post that had some errors ...
I wrote "link cable from FX return" to "Recording Track Block" ...
But since the AutoTune is inserted on original vocal channel , the
autotuned return comes out from "Track Mixer block" , not from FX block .....

And yes, Cher was what I meant .... Sloppy typo*

* Is that a cool band name ?

Chers ! ( intentional ) \:D
