Geez how many years has gone by since I've recorded ANYTHING!
And yet I've held onto 'most' of my gear.
Yeah, sold a guitar here and there, and of course wish I hasn't.
Especially the 1969 Les Paul. Honestly, I didn't like the way it sounded with the crappy 'little' Epiphone pickups they used around then, but amazingly they're worth a fortune. But the only way they sound good is to put in some better pickups which destroys the value. Anyway I digress.
Soooo glad to see the forum is STILL HERE!! Holy crap! I mean, how many years now? And I see Falcon Eddy and Jo Go are still here. Jo I need to chat with you my friend. Get my stuff up to date. You can tell me all the Frankenstein mods you've used to keep this thing current.
Still have everything I need to crank out a tune or 2.
Also planning to try my hand at doing a demo for voiceovers and offering my services online.
Ha, we'll see what comes of that. But I can do a lot of good imitations, accents and crazy voices so I won't know till I try.
In Oregon these days right by the ocean. Just got everything plugged in and it works! I'm thinking of recording just some simple rock tunes (think Tom Petty). Just crank a few out and put 'em on online.
Man, I got a lot of catching up to do. Lucky me, I had the sense to leave a sticky for myself that said "SHIFT INDEX" which ha, made the mouse work! Yeah!!!
Says I'm on version 2.0 on startup and that the clock battery is dead. Guess I'll need to replace that. Any advice is appreciated.
I see they still have the midi version software update on the Roland site...geez. Well I kept an old tower too with I think windows 98 on it that is set up for that.
Old tech is not necessarily a bad thing if it gets you where you want to go. So, I'd like to update without losing everything I've ever recorded and also have a couple external disks with ide to scsi interface.
And can I get the CD version of the update?
BTW I have the original external CD version of 2480.
Glad to be back! Can't wait to record a tune or 2!
Are there any sharing programs out there like the old rocket network these days? Man those guys were to far ahead of there time. Just didn't work on dial up and that's what 99% of the population was on then.
Holler back at me please!
