“We will be instituting the practice of ‘greasing poles’ as a deterrent for climbing poles and light fixtures,” a police spokesperson told Fox 29. “We encourage everyone to celebrate safely and responsibly.”
It’s a Philadelphia tradition, and a technique that the police also employed the last time the Eagles were in the NFC Championship Game.

There are certain areas of the city where people congregate and it goes on. One of them is about 10 minutes from where I live in NE Philly.
People really get stupid, but the last few celebrations (Eagles/Philles) weren't bad.
The worst I ever witnessed, and found myself in as a kid, was the Flyers Stanley Cup back in the 1974. People lit things on fire, tore things up, and were rocking cars as they tried to drive down the (main) street, and did so until they flipped one over. Me and a friend jumped on the back of a Triumph convertible that had the top down, driven by a guy and his girl, and driving at a crawl through the crowd. We were sitting on the back of the car with our feet behind the their seats; they had no idea we were sitting there. As they approached the end of the crowd, the car suddenly took off. We panicked and jumped off. It was like a movies scene, and we went sprawling/rolling on the street. We were scratched, scraped, and bleeding a bit. It was a lesson in inertia. Anyway, and that was in "the good part" of the city.
One thing is certain: I won't be at any championship celebration.

Even though the 2 most accurate experts on TV both pick the Niners in this one, I somehow have a huge burst of confidence, almost exactly what happened the last time the Birds were in a championship game, even though with Nick Foles there was no reason to.
I should be more worried about tomorrow but I'm not.

The Eagles and the 49ers are as close as could be in talent and their matchups, except for QB, which IS a big deal.
Besides that, is home field advantage, which is not to be underestimated.
What the 49ers have in their favor is that they come in firing on all cylinders, also not to be underestimated.
Whoever wins the line of scrimmages will win...and I think to win, both have to be won.
Originally, I picked the 49ers and Bengals, but I'm switching to the Eagles.
The Chiefs are a great team, and have Mahomes and Kelce, the best in the league at their positions. But JuJu has pretty much been shut down against good teams.
The Bengals are a rough and tumble team that plays smart too. They can impose their will and break teams' psyche, I don't think they can do that to the Chief's offense, but to their defense? I dunno.
Originally, I picked the Bengals and I'm gonna stick with them, although my gut is saying the Chiefs will come away with the victory....I would love to see the Eagles and Chiefs in the SB.
Alright Al, say it with me: E-A-G-L-E-S....EAGLES! 🦅🦅🦅🦅

I really feel strongly that tomorrow will be a good day. The only hesitation I have is remembering a game we played against them in the Chip Kelly era with Alex Smith as their QB, they just kept the ball all game with these long drives.
I feel if we stay turnover free we'll definitely win and I suspect we'll take a few from them. heh
Well, I think you'll be hearing a lot more of it in the media if the 49ers win tomorrow The youtube algorithm is picking up Purdy more. That video was a recommendation. I didn't do a search for him.

You might be right, and it doesn't bother me at all...I have my own beliefs, and while that isn't one of them I respect others' beliefs (within reason! lol), so....

Games turning out to be pretty boring. Battle of defense and penalties. A couple cool catches and thats about it. I think I'm gonna step back from it for a bit.

The 49ers D is playing really well. The Eagles need to establish the run.
On D, the Eagles have to focus on containing McCaffrey (which I mentioned before the game). Once he gets some space, and into the open field, he's always a threat to take it to the house - he's a great back. The Eagles have been gifted a #4 QB, they can't blow it.
Give credit the the 49ers, they're playing really well with the hand they've been dealt.

49ers have been terribly unlucky today. Hate to see it with such an important game. It seems to be causing the defense to have to try to be overly aggressive, and causing mistakes/penalties.
The fumble by QB Johnson was a killer. Too bad. Really hate to see it all. You wanna play the best at their best, win or lose. If the Eagles win, this will put a cloud over it.
Eagles have to not let them score before half-time. They're in a prevent now.

He didn't try to injure him, he was just trying to get to him, get to the ball. It's a perfectly legit part of the game. Nothing cheap about it.
I wonder if they have ultrasound on hand. It can really help with nerve impingement, etc. Although it would be the longest of shots, it would be worth a shot.
If you've never experienced nerve issues in the elbow/wrist, etc. (like hitting your funny bone), the feeling goes right down your arm and effects your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th fingers. They can go completely numb, and it lingers as the feeling slowly comes back. Very weird feeling.
*Edit: with your wrist, it affects the thumb and index finger, with the elbow, as above.
