Kate Bush
Sheryl Crow
Missy Elliott
Iron Maiden
Joy Division/New Order
Cyndi Lauper
George Michael
Willie Nelson
Rage Against the Machine
Soundgarden
The Spinners
A Tribe Called Quest
The White Stripes
Warren Zevon

The only one out of this group I'd give a HOF thumbs up to is the Spinners and Willie and they're soul and country, not rock.

Love Kate Bush! My favorite female artist and composer. She was Female Artist of the Year in Melody Maker magazine about six years in a row, hasn't made as big a splash here as in the UK. This would be great whipped cream topping added to the success of "Running Up That Hill."

Joy Division and Soundgarden should definitely be in there.

its proven to be more of a "Pop Music Hall of Fame", historically...so based on past inductees, I would vote for:

Kate Bush
Missy Elliot (seriously...she is a pioneer)
Willie Nelson
Soundgarden (at last a rock group)
the Spinners (so many great songs)
White Stripes
Warren Zevon

with an emphasis on Warren Zevon

Each of those have at least one song I like a lot except not Iron Maiden , Warren Zevon or Sheryl Crow.

Some of those have several.

Strange thing , I love The Spinners , but they only have a few songs I play.

Rage is fun

Soundgarden is fantastic on about five things for me

Tribe has several whole albums I like

Willie is great. Love his album of standards

Cindy has just two for me, but two amazing songs: True Colors and Time After Time

Missy is badass

Running Up a Hill is pretty great

Love Will Tear Us Apart is strangely great

George Michael has at least three songs I like a lot, probably more

White Stripes have Seven Nation Army and their cover Bacharach’s I just Don’t Know What to Do With Myself - love that

Crow’s music sounds real good, but doesn’t really reach me

Zevon has a good voice

Glad they all got in the game

In my favorite cover band, we did 3 Iron Maiden songs Flight of Icarus , The Trooper and Wrathchild (our opener).

It must be hard to make these nominations because of how segmented music is. I don't really listen to metal, so I don't know how significant Iron Maiden is in its development. For all I know, they could be highly, highly innovative.

I think it's definitely a challange. I mean, is it people who have been popular? Is it genre-defining or expanding artists? Where do you draw the lines, I guess?

I think rap and hip-hop and EDM definitely deserve a place in the Hall. The fact that all the people of my age that I know don't understand it or like it much tells me that it should be in there. What was the rock spirit other than a big middle finger to the last generation?

I don't think Iron Maiden is any less significant than any other of the names on the list of nominees. They influenced many, if not all the euro-metal that came out after them. They also influenced bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer and others in the genre. I like their stuff until Powerslave (1984). Everything after that started sounding the same to me. Their first 5 were great IMO. They were like a more progressive Judas Priest.

They're a great live band too:
