Al Al What can a poor boy do Loquacious Planeteer Registered: 04/16/99 Posts: 66015 Loc: Walmartville	Saturday night I love sitting in front of my big screen and putting the headphones on, watching a concert, blasting it. I have all the streaming thingies, it used to be easy to find whoever I felt like seeing. Noticed it's no longer so easy. I wanted to do Jimi, couldn't find one that rang the bell. Looked around a lot, finally found (on Peacock) a recent Pretenders concert from Sydney. My god it was fabulous. I went in not expecting much. Pretenders for me were basically 2 different bands, the one with James Honeyman Scott on main guitar (their first 2 records) which was one of the greatest bands ever and after Scott which usually came across weak in comparison. They still have the original drummer Chambers and of course the great Chrissie Hynde who while she looks a little older and a tad ragged, brought an A+ 100% voice to the party, such great crisp rock and roll singing. They treated me to many of their best songs from their early days and a few newer ones that shined as well. I was particularly pleased to hear their cover of I Go To Sleep by the Kinks and other favorites from Pretenders II Talk of the Town and Message of Love though they didn't play my alltime fave Pretenders songs Birds of Paradise or the Adultress. really super solid show though, to me she's the alltime greatest female rocker, puts Pat Benatar and the Wilson sisters and the ladies from Fleetwood Mac to shame. _________________________
