Have we given up on getting data downloads from the VS-2480 into Tracknotes?

That was, after all, the main reason many, like myself, bought the thing!

Should I close the casket?

No way, please be a bit more patient. TrackNotes V2 w/Roland MIDI pipeline will be released in 2004 - you can bank on it \:\)

Hi Walrus,

Any updates? We've been patient for another
6 months now \:\)

I'd be well willing to code some stuff for you
guys (even for free), I'm just sick and tired
of all the paper around my studio \:D

Regards,

KrasS

We are deep into development for TN V2. We are workin on parsing the MIDI bulk dump and mapping the memory values for each VS setting to TN. Unfortunately, Roland has no docie on these memory locations, so we need to flush them out one by one. It is a lot of work, but, we have set up a methodology to get to the data. We are expecting to announce Tracknotes V3 w/Roland MIDI pipeline at Winter NAMM 2005.

Thanks for offering your services, KrasS. Be careful, we might just take you up on it \:\)

Okay, I'm expecting to see pigs fly out my butt in that same time-frame!

Perhaps we can celebrate together!

Did V2 ever come out?

Rockjaw:

Unfortunately, I expect that's now an image that will remain with me for quite some time...
I guess the bright side is that, at least you're not expecting porcupines...

Happy New Year all! \:\)

Hi!

So now we are at the end of March 2005 and there has been almost 3 months since anything was posted here.

So... any news about this project? Any progress?

I am one of them that find Track Notes quite useless if this data download thing from VS-2480 is not possible. I am not in a hurry, but I'd like to have some more recent information about what's going on and approximately when we can expect the wonder to arrive... \:D

It's coming . . . two to three more months. There's a reason why nobody has done this yet ;\)

You did happen to notice that that release date was scheduled for 2004, didn't you? It is now 2012, in case you've forgotten, or were frozen in a glacier for a few years. \:\) \:\)

Yes, I know, just trying to be ironic. I have been waiting for it for many years now, and now it doesn't matter any more. Even if it will be released, I can't use it anyway, since I don't have Windows since 2007…

LOL
I was wondering about this :D

By now, I've sold my VS2480. Don't think that in the long run any software could have helped that.

KrasS
