I purchased A Bundle of these Plug Ins from BPM music. I didnt install them right away because I was working on a few projects that i had not finished with and was not for sure they were completely safe. When I loaded them up or at least tried to . they wouldnt load the Authorized version only the trial. it would go through the Process and then at the Authorize stage it would kick the disc out and say Write Error and Operation Failed.
I called roland they told me to send the Disc Set back and they would Send me a nother set. i got it 2 days ago and it also will not load up. I am very aggravated at this. i will say this i am not going to be happy if i have to wait another 3 weeks to get more plug ins . also having the Rebate offer is no good if you have to spend the money sending the product back and forth to get one that works. not only that in long distant phone bills where you have to call customer service.
Roland is a Bunch of Rips.
I am a long time Roland User and Here lately I have been questioning my loyalty to their products and Name.
Anyone else having problems like this.

i have the internal burner. i talked to roland again today . they finally admitted that they had some of the disc that were mixed up with some that were only ment to be demonstration and would only do trial versions.
What i cant figure out is why is it costing us consumers.
it gets expensive sitting on hold long distance and to keep having to ship things that should be working to start with.
looks like some compensation would be in order
just another time that roland got too far ahead of their self and Sold things that was not working like it should be.

i must say everything i have tried has worked first time.... my only problem being that i was shipped OS 2.5 ont 2.503 it was a hassle and pain to have to download and install the new OS via midi files, but im glad i was able to.
i think a friendly letter to Roland explaining your upset, and the total EXTRA cost you have been put out by at THEIR mistake, might at least yeild a result.
this sort of mistake DOES happen from time to time, and since they have admitted their fault, then im sure you are entitled to some kind of refund on postage or vouchers at the very least.... of course im sure an appology letter would help 'reinstall' your faith in the company! 
just shouldnt happen.. but it does

i just got my third UA bundle thursday and tried to load it up friday Didnt work they are working on it.
I am just beginning to think i should have taken that money and spent on a PREAMP. I have been a loyal Roland User for years and still am.
I use roland Products in every gig and every recording session. but. I have also had alot of dissapointments since my first 2480 after about 3 times shipping it to california they got it straightened out. That was my 2480HD. then the Fader board went out on it. so i just ordered a brand new 2480CD Still have both use the old one for mobile recording. when i need to.
But they need to stand behind their products more and not at the expense of the customers.
with my business when i make a mistake i fix it at my expense not my customers
But you got to give them credit they are most of the time putting out great products just a little behind on getting the bugs out before they start selling them

hadnt asked for a new card
I really dont think it is a problem witht the card. but it might be ill ask roland
They turned it over to a manager he is supposed to call me back today well see what happens ill keep you guys posted

Hi guys Just mailed the Third Bundle back to roland Got to talk to a Manager he said he was going to send me some copies Not originals but i still had to pay shipping charges back to roland for a 3rd time. Next time i am not going to be playing this game. they will have to find a alternative idea. I have spent enough of my money.
At this rate by the time I get a working copy of the bundle I will have a fortune invested.
Has anyone else had any isues like this.

Actually if it's not your fault you should not pay for anything. It would be in Rolands best interest to compensate you for any shipping charges. Especially since you are an active user of VSPlanet, and your experience with thier customer service is shared with so MANY VS users, be it good service or bad. Bottom line in any business, "If you pay for something, it should work." It's not just good policy, it's the law.
Unless you ask, they won't offer. I don't know what you went through to get a new one sent to you, but I know if you go thru enough levels of people, the answer will always be "yes." If this advice does not fit your situation, that's cool, but I've heard a few posts were people had to send stuff back to roland, and I hope no one has to dig into their pockets for it.
I do have to say my experience with Roland so far has be superb. Thanks

Hi, it appears I have a very similar problem. I just received my LA2A/1176 bundle. The 1176 plug installed fine but the LA2A plug wont install anything but the TRIAL version. It comes up with 'regular disc' not 'protected disc' it never even gives you the choice of installing the authorized version. It's like the disc contains the trial version and that's it.
I foned Roland and they say the disc is faulty so there ya go. Must be a batch of faulty discs being printed.
Lets hope the replacement I'm being sent works!

Yeah I am going to see what happens with the next bundle they send me.
I would love to have T Racks. Dont know if i can take another Ordeal like this though.
I guess I get mad too easy Well I dont Know this has been 3 months in the making of trying to get this resolved.
But I hope they will do something to compensate the People who stand behind and rely on thier products .

I was able to load the 1176 fine but the LA-2 is Demo only!
I called support and they felt I had a bad, mislabeled disk from a batch of Demo package disks that got mixed in with the release disks.
They told me to mail the old disk in to Roland Support in LA and they would send me a new disk.
I was upset about having to wait till they receive my old disk, since I'm in the middle of a project and could use the LA-2 ASAP.
I don't see why they wouldn't just send me a new disk right away. They knew when and where I purchased it, since they issued the rebate.
Trust in these matters should work both ways.

very true I still have yet to get to use my UA Bundle. I was wanting to get the T Racks But Since i have had so much trouble with UA bundle. I am going to wait and see what happens when i get my 2480 back from Roland

I had the exact same problem on my 1st plug-ins. Long story short... They, Roland, had to replace the internal CDRW... Said that that unit wasn't compatible with the CD's sent out. This was after 2 months, and three different tries at different bundles...
I hope yours is easier... Roland did give me fantastic turn-around. My only gripe was the $92.00 shipping/Insurance that I had to pay.

Well I was lucky on the SHipping I got Free Shipping THey think that is the Problem with mine.
But THe strange thing to me is that No One at roland Seems to recognize that there have been other people with the same Problem. But a company that big Has so many people working for it it is hard for each member to keep up with the internal Workings of the Whole company

How about this one.
I purchased the UA Bundle for my 1680 and after a weekend of headaches Roland tells me that the UA plugins are not yet supproted on the 1680, 1880 & 1824. They said to call back in a few weeks to check on the status since they did not have a sysytem in place to inform the users of when the plugin will be supported.

Just bought the UA bundle. I am experiencing the same issues as reported above. The 1176 loaded fine but the LA2A will kick out the disk and state an error authorizing disk. I can only load the trial version. And I've been worried I was going to have problems with T-Racks!!!

i had to send my recorder back to roland . and they say they put a new cd burner in it. but i will say this. it is still awful choosy when it comes to blank media i can use in it. Hmmm makes you wonder dont it.

It is really nice that you people take the time to post about the problems you are experiencing with this plug-in. I have thought that out of all the plug-ins that Roland was putting out, the LA2a and 1176 package was the one to get. After reading this post, an ongoing tale of 6 months, and noticing the recent postings are STILL experiencing the "bad cd" or "replace the cd burner" problems...forget it.
After all, who has the time to dedicate 6 months to de-bugging plug-in software? Not I.

A little follow up. Roland sent me the T-Racks update ASAP. I called on a Monday, and it arrived on Tuesday! Granted I am in SD and they are in LA, they still acted immediately. I had to send in my LA-2A disk for replacement as well. This was sent to Michael Barrett, who lagged a bit. Took about a week total turnaround(must have sat on his desk a bit). I received a new LA-2A disc that loaded and authorized fine, but it was a cdr with sharpie writing on it, not a legitimate new disk. All seems to be working. The UA plugs are AWESOME. If your staying within the VS for processing they are invaluable. 1176, the best thing that ever happended to my kick drum recordings.

Ok, so i have the same problem....only trial seems to work, i get a write error when installing....but i'm just trying to install the standard plug-ins.
My machine was a 2.01 VS2480CD and i've updated it to 2.504.
I see that roland have been sending out copies...were these really on CDR or were they on CDRW ?
This proves that copies CAN work in any case.
Finally, does anyone have a file i can burn to get my damn card working? I'm just trying to install the STANDARD Roland plugs...that's all!
And my card was brand new and sealed when i got it.

Rick, you need to contact Roland support and they will send you a production version of the Plug. For some reason, some users have experienced problems installing this plug, but, you have to contact Roland Tech Support to get it fixed.
I don't have the number off-hand at this computer, but, you should have it on the plug. Let me know if you need it.

Hello all,
I am glad to say i have fixed it!
Without any Roland help, might i add!
So spread the word. I have emailed Roland to ask them to add this to their knowledge base.
Although the disc did indeed seem faulty, i figured a VS is probably as picky as a PC: it may well react randomly (!) and "illogically". So i decided to try something stupid that had no apparent link and that had no chance of working. As usual with PC's, it worked. ;-D
I took out all the VS8F-2 cards (these were, as instructed, in slots B, C and D) and left only the VS8F-3 card in slot A. Installed the plug-ins. It worked! No write error! Replaced the three VS8F-2 cards i had taken out and rebooted. All works fine!!!
I would be curious to hear whether or not this would work with other plug-ins. This was with the standard disc, the one delivered with the VS8F-3 card itself. All was new and sealed.
I hope this helps other folks, i sure as hell am glad i
a) don't have to make that long distance call to the US
b) don't have to send anything back...especially since apparently that bears no guarantee of being successful.
c) have a working board! Will i have similar issues with other plug-ins...?...I'll let you know!
Right, Brad, how much are those cheap plug-ins you are going to sell me? ;-)

Hi all, I have just bought the 1176 from a guy in oz, and I get an error message followed by ‘write error’. I tried removing my other cards but no luck. Did anyone find a way around this?
