i have a br1600, im a one man band, and i am generally very pleased with my results..however im using a studio projects b1 mic ... which aint bad for all things....

keeping in mind about the mic pre on the 1600 would a much better quality mic give me that much better results???

im talking neumann tlm 103, akgc414 bxls...
or can i supersede the mic pre , upgrade that and then buy a better mic...

any ideas???????????
